Listening to the pitter-patter of rain drops on the concrete outside, I realize that it has been many many months since I have heard such a noise. Once so familiar, it was strange to hear. With an extensive lack of moisture here in Southern California, the recent rain has been a welcome sight.

It is relaxing, and though I have become a huge fan of the amount of sun, I must admit that I missed the rain (or weather of any kind, for that matter).

With the soil the way it is out here, much of the water runs off in fast currents, making it look as though we’ve gotten more rain than we really have.

But we are not the only ones who have been enjoying the weather.

This group of beauties was enjoying the rain and wet grass in the park.

And the dogs have certainly been OK with hanging out in the house.

Here’s hoping we get some more rain and things start to green up around here!
